I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Ernest Borgnine.  I had the honor to meet him when I worked at the Late Show.  Here's what I wrote on 2/27/04:

"Man, I had a great day yesterday! I wrote a little idea that made it on the show. I don't like talking about the show too much on the diary because I don't want to seem like some Hollywood jerk, you know. I'm very humble. BUT, I was reading a magazine a few weeks ago and there was a great photo of Ernest Borgnine by the pool with his Oscar. I said to myself, wow, we should do a Top Ten with him. The next thing I knew, I'm standing next to Ernest and his wife (Tova) in the dressing room:"
