And now, Master storyteller, Bob Borden, brings you today's diary:

Hello! I went into the weekend with no plans, let's see how that worked out.

Friday I finished a full day of work and ran into my friends,
"Sally" & Walter as I was walking out. I threw out dinner, they threw out a movie and off we went. First the dinner, Chinese food, Mmmmmmmmmm. It was pretty good, not great. I was distracted by the worker sitting behind us at the next table, cleaning lettuce, ha ha. Only in New York, am I right?

By the end of the meal it seemed like Walter wasn't into the movie idea. But
"Sally" was really into the idea. I was up for a movie, as long as it was something good. Walter called the listings and it wasn't looking good. We talked about our options as we walked down 9th Avenue. Around 44th, we decided to go our separate ways ((Worlds Apart) --shoutout to Journey). The movies out now really stink -- HOLLYWOOD, are you listening?!

I got home, put a Clint Eastwood western in the DVD player but never watched it. I ended up falling asleep on the sofa. I woke up around 10:00 and decided to get my weekend chores out of the way.
Off to Nutley I went. I walked in the laundry mat and I was the only one in there - that's a dream come true! That's how it would be all the time if I hit the lottery. I'd rent out the laundry mat, ha ha -- makes no sense.

I went to Best Buy after that. I saw a great documentary Thursday night on Hong Kong Kung Fu movies. After watching, I knew I'd either enroll in martial arts school, shoot my own kung fu movie or buy one. I ended up buying one;
Master of The Flying Guillotine. It was pretty good. I have to buy me one of them Flying Guillotines, ha ha. Along with the kung fu purchase, I also picked up the 20th anniversary DVD of Purple Rain. I have yet to watch the film again but I watched all of the extras, very interesting stuff. Prince is the real deal.

12:45 AM update: OK, I just watched Purple Rain for probably the 20th time -- it's still fantastic! Watch it and try not to tear up at the end, that's all I have to say. I forgot to mention something from the extras portion of the DVD. They talk to the old band as they are today. Wendy & Lisa, Bobby Z and Doctor Fink. Doctor Fink's gimmick was to dress like a Doctor. He's being interviewed 20 years later and he's still wearing a stethoscope, ha ha! The 12:45 AM update is now over -- tell your friends!

I hit the A & P and overcooked a pizza for dinner. I was watching the time but the thing just burnt.
What can you do? I had soup instead.

I woke up Sunday and knew what I was going to do:
Football. I purchased the football package where I can watch every game. Finally, I can watch the Steelers lose instead of the Jets/Giants, ha ha.Before the games started at one o'clock, I decided to go out and get some sun. I did a power walk up to Washington Street, picked up some lunch and got back five minutes before kick off. I was flipping between two games and when commercials came on, I found yet another game to watch -- it was crazy.

I sat in front of my TV from 1pm to 7pm -- it was pretty good! Then I took this photo of myself because I was thinking of growing a beard (It was going to be a new feature to the website but it itched too much) but the bigger story is how I looked after 7 hours of football:
Bob watched 7 hours
of football

Only 19 more weeks to go! I'm just happy I can see the Steelers play.

I think that's it for today.
Have a good one.

Sincerely,

Bob
