Welcome to the final Diary of 2001! I'm not going to lie -- 2001 sucked! However, I feel like I made some changes in my life for the better. I've learned how to let go of hate and accept things for what they are. I learned how to accept other people's short comings. I learned how precious life is and how I've taken it for granted. I've finally put myself out there in terms of meeting new people -- granted, with mixed results but I'm still trying. This year can be summed up in two days for me. The day I lost my Dad and the day when those cowards attacked us. Like America, all I can do is keep moving forward but I'll never forget the past. I'm looking forward to 2002 and the unknown challenges that will come with the new year. I want to say thanks to everybody for reading my site and for telling your friends. I enjoy spilling my guts for your enjoyment, it keeps me sane. Anyway, thank you. I hope the New Year brings you good health and good friends. OK, time for my annual BobBorden.com Year End 2001 List: (Not in order of importance)
1. A new found fondness for chocolate ice cream
2. Mike Watt (Saw his show and it gave me a new love for music and musicians)
3. New friends
4. Old Friends
5. My Mom (She had super human courage this year and she showed me what it really means to love someone.)
6. BobBorden.com webmaster, Walter Kim
7. My cats
8. My "new" car
9. Me and Iggy Pop!
10. (Tie) TV and our former intern Rick (TV because it's cool and Rick because he taught me you're never too old)
That's it! As usual, people of the press, please feel free to print my year end list.
Program note: Tune in on January 7, 2002 for the first diary of the New Year.
Be safe and I'll talk to you soon. God Bless America.
