I hope you had a good weekend. Saturday, I did some stuff around the house, checked out a garage sale and then had a lovely dinner with Cara. The garage sale was notable because they were selling two mopeds. Garage sales with mopeds or full-size arcade games are the best. I've always wanted a moped.
My Mom promised me if I ever got straight A's she'd buy me a moped. She knew I could never get straight A's! Straight C's were like A's to me, ha ha. The price they were asking was crazy for a moped from the 80's, so forget that idea.
Cara and I had a lovely dinner Saturday night. Sometimes Cara likes to people watch. At dinner I would bring up a topic and get nothing back. I tried again, she shushed me and said, "I'm trying to figure out what's going on with this table. I think it's a father introducing his new girlfriend to his kids." I said, I don't care. It was pretty funny. We got home and watched "Red." It was entertaining. I have a cold and didn't get to sleep until 3AM. The worst.
Sunday we saw the movie, "The Ides of March." It was ok but not the best film we've ever seen.
Back to the moped story. What I didn't tell you was it was a 2-day sale. I got the guy's number and called him at the end of day 2 to see if the mopeds sold. One did, the other was still available. I threw out a low number and I'm the proud owner of a 1984 Suzuki FA50!
It has been sitting for a while so it's going to be a project to get her going again. But, what the heck, maybe I'll learn something. And before any jokes are made, yes, I realize I'm too big for this machine. I'm reminded of this photo from the Guinness Book of World Records:
Maybe this will be part of my Halloween costume this year. That'd be great. Ha ha.
So there you go. It's going to be winter soon and I have a moped, perfect. Maybe I can attach a snow plow to the front.
Have a nice day.
