Friday I met the perfect record store employee. She had a lot of the same tastes that I do except she knew much, much more. And all of her recommendations were right on the money. After that, I picked up a burrito and walked home. I watched Harold and Maude, and then listened to music the rest of the night.

Saturday I woke up around 11. It just hit me that I didn't leave a one mile radius of my apartment this weekend. There's something sad about that. I was going to go to Nutley (not that that's much better) but something told me to stay close. I headed over to Jersey City, did my laundry and went to Target. On my way into Target, a kid outside a shopping cart was pulling on the side of the cart.

children in need

The kid's baby brother/sister was inside the cart. Just as I was walking by, the cart started to fall over on its side -- without thinking about it, I grabbed the cart, preventing it from crashing to the ground. I took a deep breath. The mom was surfing the internet on the Target job computer. She thanked me and I was on my way. How about that?

That reminds me...last weekend I did another good deed. I was in the laundry mat and I was walking out to go shopping. The woman in front of me had two big bags of laundry and was trying to get everything in order. A guy was holding the door for her, she was blocking the door preventing me from leaving. I offered my help and she pointed me to the big bag. I picked it up and brought it outside. Now, I go to put it down but she just keeps walking to her car. I said to her, 'Now wait a minute, I thought you were parked by the curb?' Oh the laugh we shared.
You know I had a bad weekend if I'm talking about a story from the weekend before, ha ha.

Saturday night I had some mac & cheese and a Wonder-Roast chicken -- so good! I paid some bills, backed up all of my downloaded music and fell asleep on the sofa.

Sunday I woke up around 10:30. I got caught up on two episodes of The Apprentice, that's a darn good show. Trump is so likeable in a cocky sort of way. I got out of the house and was going to drive around northern Jersey but it looked like traffic so I went back to Target. I was looking for a bookshelf type of thing for a new radio I got. I traded my brother my big stereo, that took up too much of my space, for a small/good table radio.
Bob's new radio

He makes out in the deal but I never used the darn thing, so I'd call that a smart trade. This table radio I have is amazing! It sounds like nothing I've ever heard before. I listened to some music from India and some classical stuff too. Back to the shelf -- Target didn't have anything, neither did Pier 1. So I found a place for the radio on my computer table. It works out better, I didn't need to spend that money.

I've been thinking about money lately and how I need to start saving it. I canceled my voicemail and bought a phone machine. I don't need to spend the $5 a month to hear that I have no calls, ha ha.Remember my trip back to Ohio so I could see the Steelers game? The gas alone cost close to $200!I have to get rid of that tank.

I got back to my apartment around 4:00 and watched football. I watched Pimp My Ride, listened to music and wrote the old diary. Mike Watt was in Hoboken but I didn't feel like seeing him this time around. He's playing a 53 minute song about an illness that almost took him a few years back -- not my cup of tea.

That's it! Have a great Monday.

Sincerely,

Bob
