Oh man, I had a good weekend -- I just lived.
Friday night I drove out to a little place called The Hamptons, you know, playground to the rich & famous. Walter and "Sally" were nice enough to invite me out there. They left 20 minutes before I did and I have to say, It worked out great for me. When they hit traffic, they called me and told me how to get around it. I had a smooth trip until I got off at a wrong exit that I thought was a service road, oops. But I figured it out pretty quick. I'd like to leave 20 minutes before them next time to return the favor.
Saturday morning I woke up around nine. Walter and I went out to pick up some breakfast. The big plan for the day was to go to the Coin Star machine, sad but true. We played video games for a while and then headed out in the world. We went to a cool Mexican place, saw some friends we knew and had a good time. We hit the beach next. I wanted to say goodbye to the sea until next year. It was a very emotional day for me. Coin Star was next, Walter & "Sally" had about $122 in coins, I had $48. Somehow, I let Walter talk me into pooling our money and buying $40 in scratch-off tickets. We "won" about 7 bucks. Looking back, it might not have been the best plan.
We relaxed until 8 and then headed into town for a lovely meal. They picked up the tab which was really nice. I made up for in later by buying orange juice at the 7-11 (Not really).
Sunday I woke up around 9 and played some more video games. Walter cooked up a lovely breakfast, we shared some lovely conversation and did stuff around the house. I was going to leave around 8 AM because I have the NFL Sunday Ticket this year but Saturday night I was so tired, I decided to stay a little longer.
I took off around 2:00 so I could watch the Steelers play at 8:30 and so I could avoid traffic. I hit a few rough spots but nothing major. Then I got close to the Lincoln Tunnel and it was crazy. I think at five o'clock, no matter what day, the tunnel must always be crazy. I got close to my turn but ended up in the far left lane (Of a four-lane road). I needed to turn right, the light was red, traffic to my left is blocked because of security, so, I hit the gas. I turned, on red, across four lanes. It was pretty cool. I should have got a ticket but I didn't. So I say, if you can get away with it, do it, ha ha. It was sweet though.
Sunday night is all mine. Thanks to Walter and "Sally" for everything.
Have a great Monday.
Sincerely,
Bob
