Once I got home I came across the film Dances with Wolves. That's one film that slipped by me, so I decided to watch. It was pretty good.
Saturday I woke up around 9 and hit the showers. I got in the car and headed over to the auto-parts store to do some troubleshooting on my fast-blinking turn signal. I pulled the fuse and it dropped into an unreachable pocket. I bought a new fuse, put it in and nothing. I read on the internet that the ground wire could have come lose. I checked out the rear lights, fine. I unscrewed the front light and that was fine. I gave up and drove to the laundry to put my clothes in the wash. While I was there, I said to myself, you can't give up. I looked at the rear bulbs. I turned the blinker on and pulled out a bulb - the indicator blinked as fast as it did with the bulb in. After fiddling around with different variations, I fixed it! Turns out that one of the new bulbs I put in there wasn't working properly - I think. It works, that's all I care about. I celebrated my victory by making right turns every chance I could.
I got back from that experience and it was time for dinner. I cooked up some chicken and ziti. Mmmmmmm. I watched The King of Comedy. That's a great film. I picked it up from the going out of business sale at The Wiz. -- 30% off all DVDs and CDs, that's a sweet deal. I also bought Van Halen's 0U812 and some AA batteries.
Sunday I woke up around 8 and cleaned the apartment. Around 3, I headed over to Walter's place to play some games. Our friend Jay was having friends over to watch the Academy Awards. So, We thought we'd get in some pre-Oscar Madden.
Around 7:30 "Sally," Walter and I jumped in a cab to Jay's. We watched the ceremony in HDTV. I don't want to overstate the HDTV experience -- simply put: it was glorious!

Top L-R: Chris, Walter, Jay
Bottom L-R: Bob, Tom
"Sally" took that photo. Thanks Jay for a fun evening! I was surprised by the lack of liberal speeches concerning the war. Michael Moore, surprise, surprise, spouted some BS but was booed by the audience. Audience: 1 - Moore: 0. That was a long, long ceremony! Nobody knows how to kiss Hollywood's butt better than Hollywood. Some "highlights", the endless film clips before the awards, the Oscar sound clips of what happened seconds before and the NEVER-ENDING salute to the 59 people that have won Oscars. I'll never get those four hours back.
That's it!
Have a great day.
God Bless America.
